Celebration of Independence day

Why have I selected Mass Communication? If I have to give the answer of this question then I would say the reason is that the raising need and usage of media now a days in our society. Everybody wants to have good future and plan a lot of things to satisfy him or herself and to make the future bright. As I did so by selecting this subject.

I realized that in present era mass communication is one of the successful fields and the free flow of ideas is vital for the development and improvement of modern democratic societies and we have a lot of opportunities in it as compare to other fields. We have a lot of choices in mass communication like we can work in print media, TV, radio, internet and can get a good job in any multinational company. All fields are very interesting and have their own importance.

It develops our thinking, creativity and personal integrity, research and observation, writing skills and a mastery of mass communication media in a global information age. Mass communication plays a vital role in the development of a society. As instruments of public opinion, both interpret culture, its values that bind the society together and transmit information and knowledge that contribute to the development of a free society.

We must not forget that learning is a long life. We must keep our minds open and keep learning. People wish to share the information they have with others. These passions have resulted in the growth of media for mass communication. Television, radio and print media hold ways over the entire globe and have become effective machines of education or miss-education of the society.

I have no hesitation in saying that Mass Media has become the most effective source of informal education. Media has such a strong hold on the society that it will not be improper to call it media addicted. People crave for T.V., radio and newspapers and internet. Many changes in the world are due to media. Knowledge of communication is very necessary for everyone to be successful in every field.

It’s my belief that learning is a lifelong pursuit and that the communication process is one of endless enquiry and discovery. Why it was important for me as I told above, that’s why I have selected mass communication and I am satisfied with my choice.

Students week at JUW

I heard a lot about students week when I joined the Jinnah university that every year students week is organized by university and there is a lot of fun and enjoyment. I was so curious and was waiting anxiously when we will enjoy this event. At last I heard that students week is going to start from 12th Oct to 17th Oct and we started preparation for it. Our classmates took part in every event with full of passion and spirit. Daily we used to practice for our shows in which we were participating. We just wanted to see our department on the top and for this everybody worked hard. Our group (me and my friends) were also preparing for Stall. We made hand jewelry for the stall and it was awesome. Daily after classes we used to sit in car parking and start our work with keen interest and during this used to have gossips, listening songs, a lot of memories will always be with us.

After waiting alot at last students week started. There were five events. Debate and ghazal competition, drama competition, cultural show, handicraft, cooking and Naat competition, Mela and in the last result of student’s week. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed all programs specially Mela. I bought a lot of jewelry and had yummy stuff like ice cream ,gola ganda and a lot of other things .We had our own stall of jewelry and had a vey good experience how to sell things hahaha.

Over all it was great experience and we had a lot of fun and enjoyed a lot which I can never forget.

Rain, Blessing Or Curse

When we think about rain, the first thing that comes in mind is that it is the something to enjoy and have fun with but when we look at our country, it seems that it becomes more of a problem than enjoyment. The whole system becomes upside down and people get infuriated with the situation.

When drops of rain fall on face then it feels so good and we wish to inhale the smell of wet mud inside us but when we slip in this mud because of rain we have to come back from dream world but what can be done?

Karachi is one of the biggest cities of Asia and has a lot of importance because of its trade but it’s a fact that after raining water accumulates in most of the areas and all activities become impossible. Don't we have those engineers who could make master plan for this country? It’s true that rain comes here very rare but whenever it comes people have to bear it with problems. Someone is trying to pull out his bike from the pool of water, somewhere the car is floating in the river and if we talk about pedestrians they enjoy a lot, going with holding their pants curled up then any car passes them and makes their clothes filthy. Moreover you have to check it out with your feet that is there any manhole or not? Because often it happens in rain that it is coverless and many incidents happens because of this. Also most of the time electricity wires break down and causes lots of casualties because of electricity shocks.

If we talk about that government should plan anything then it will take 20 to 30 years to change the system that’s why government thinks what is the benefit if public don’t get its result now so just leave it and on the other hand public cant bear this thing that why should they have to face all the difficulties and their next generation will get relief. That’s why both remain quiet. Government don’t think about it and public don’t say anything they have become habitual to face all this.

If still government don’t pay attention towards this matter and don’t plan anything then it will be very pathetic in future. Not only in Karachi but in all the cities of Pakistan those steps should be taken on time so that we could get rid of all these obstacles in future.

“ Allah don’t change the circumstances of that nation who don’t think about itself.”

We can just pray that May Allah aware our leaders about their responsibilities.

Is This The Way Of Eid's Celebration?

I still remember the last day of Ramazan when everyone was busy in Eid's preparation and waiting anxiously to see the moon. I was so happy when I heard the news that tomorrow will be Eid but unforseen my happiness turned into grief and anger when I heard the noise of firing in our area.People were expressing their joy by firing in the air.It happened first time on the occassion of Eid.

At that time I remebered the celebration of 20 20 world cup in the same way when Pakistan won. Next day I got to know that above 50 people have died because of this air firing but no news channel highlighted that news.They just showed the celebration of Pakistan's victory. Only few newspapers gave this news.So when I heard the air firing on "Chand Raat" I was so upset and thinking that we don't know how many people will die today.I want to ask, is this the way of celebration? People turn someone life into death and joy into sorrow.When they will think about this and will realize this? We have no answer.

A day in the life of Kenyan women

I feel really sorry when I think about the life of Kenyan women.There is no meaning of life for them.They face alot of obstacles in life.

Imagine if your main dream is to find work to get enough food to feed your children every day and if you don't find work you will be unable to feed your kids. It's really sad. Kenyan women's main objective or wish is not to provide clothes or fulfill other needs of their kids but they just dream of finding a job that gives them enough food for every day.What will be the life if you have to go out every day to find a job to feed your kids and your kids sleep hungry when you don't get work.

Kenyan women are very hard working. They get up before sun rising. After praying they start working from their home tasks.They and their children don't have any breakfast and with empty stomach they leave their home for searching jobs. Even their kids have to find some small jobs too, like sweeping warehouse floors, or carrying goods on their headsThey just have one meal in a day in the evening.They have very little to eat.They are happy when they get job to buy food. They feel sad when they don't find any work.They don't have any hope for better future becaus without food and money it isn't possible to have hope for better future.

In the evening they go back home, and sleep on the floor on a mat and cover themselves with their cloths. They don't have any time to rest except night.They have fear their kids will become street children and then bandits.They are scared for their health.They have to go far away to bring water and it's really very hard if you don't have any mean to carry the weight.

When we think all about this the question which comes in mind is, what is the meaning of life for those women who spend their whole day just in searching food for their kids and have fear in their minds whether they will be able to take food to home for their kids or not who are waiting for their mother with empty stomach.Is this a life?

When we talk about present digital age and on the other hand alot of people like these Kenyan women have been passing this kind of worse and painful life, its really very pethatic and unbelieveable that if we have all the facilities of life then why theyare deprived of even basic necessities of life? What is life for them? Will they ever haveany happiness in life? when this time will come that they won't have to leave their home every day for searching jobs to feed their kids? will they be able to live fearless and happy life?

Do we ever think about this?

Every year when Ramazan starts I have alot of questions in my mind. We all have been listening since our childhood that what is the object of fasting. Fasting helps us to develop self-restraint, self-purification, compassion, the spirit of caring and sharing,the love of humanity and the love of God.

When we talk about all these things, do we really care about it in Ramazan. The month of Ramazan is a blessing for us to realize these spirits and follow them to our whole life but what I observed we just talk about this but not really feel from depth of our heart. Fasting doesn't mean just starving whole day.Ramazan gives us a break and provides us with a rare opportunity to think about ourownselves but do we really think about ourselves?

I dont think so that any change comes in our behaviour in Ramazan rather than what I feel that during fasting usually people get more infuriated.They also don't refrain from lying. Some people don't offer pray even in Ramazan.They just observe fast and keep sleeping whole day and what about Taraveeh people just observe it seven days and leave the whole month Taraveeh. It's not right. People expend alot of money in Iftar Parties. We can give that money to someone who really deserve it and when the end of Ramazan comes we forget all the things and just get busy in Eid's preparation.Music is played in high volume in markets. One thing I still remember before three days of Eid when I was going somewhere I saw a huge poster of Indian movie out side the cinema. I really felt sorry at that time and I was thinking when we will care about all these things? When we will start thinking what is the meaning of fasting?

I dont know till how long we will have to face this electricity problem. No matter Ramazan has started, we dont have electricity even in night for hours.Although we should get some relief in Ramzan but who cares. KESC is still showing its irresponsibility. I think we will have to face this problem whole life. Is there any solution? When will we have these kind of basic facilites?

my first experience

I have heard alot about blogging and I was willing to do it. Its first time that I am sharing something with others. I love to talk and having disucssion over different topics. Its really a big mean of gaining knowledge and I think I will enjoy it alot.
